President
Emeritus - Freedia Simpson
RHCN
believes in continuity of leadership, and to that end maintains
a president emeritus position. Freedia Simpson serves in that
capacity for 2004-2005. Freedia is both past vice president and
president of the RHCN. A former United States Marine, Freedia
lives with her husband and their two "four-legged children" (as
she puts it) in the Rabun Circle neighborhood.
Freedia is employed by the Rock Hill Police Department, is
a past president of the Rabun Circle Community Watch, has served on several Rock
Hill zoning boards, and was instrumental in helping start the Arcade Mill clean-up
project. |
Treasurer
- Sandra Oburokumo
Sandra is a retired federal employee with 28 plus years with US Department of Agriculture and over 25 years with the USDA Forest Service.
Born in Rock Hill, Sandra migrated to Washington, DC as a child
where she attended school (except for 2 years schooling in Rock Hill, Emmett Scott High School class of 1967), college, and spent most of her work career. She then retired and returned to Rock Hill in 1999.

Inside Rock Hill Fall 2004 Graduate, Secretary for the Urban Rock Hill Weed & Seed Steering Committee, member of the Tree Commission,
Assistant Secretary for Rock Hill NAACP,
Pineridge Estates Neighborhood Representative,
part time worker at Safe Passage Domestic Violence Shelter, and member of Freedom Temple Ministries. |
Council
Liaison - Terry Windell
The
final member of our team is Terry Windell. Terry is a Neighborhood
Empowerment Coordinator with the City of Rock Hill, where
he serves as the link between the Council of Neighborhoods and
the
City. Terry deals with many neighborhood
issues within Rock Hill, such as helping set up new neighborhood
groups and .assisting existing groups with whatever issues arise.
Terry is a past president of the East Town Neighborhood
Association and also a past president and vice president of the Rock Hill Council
of Neighborhoods.
